Full New Build Tile Installation in Beaumont, Alberta
This Beaumont new build was a top to bottom tile job: a 12 by 12 porcelain field tile in a straight lay pattern across the main floor, bathrooms, and entryway, plus a mosaic accent in every shower and behind the kitchen backsplash. The builder we partnered with wanted one consistent visual language through the entire home, and the same porcelain was repeated under the fireplace surround. The Tile Experts handled every wet area and every dry area in a coordinated install schedule that kept the rest of the trades moving.
What Goes Into a Full Home Tile Package?
A new build tile package in Edmonton’s south region typically covers four zones: the main floor field, the kitchen backsplash, the master and main bathroom wet areas, and a feature surface (fireplace, mudroom, laundry, or accent wall). On this Beaumont project we installed all four. The same 12 by 12 porcelain was rolled across the main floor and the fireplace base, which created a calm, continuous floor plane that does not visually break between rooms. Mosaic inserts were used as the accent material in the showers and on the kitchen backsplash, which gave the homeowner a focal point in each room without changing the field tile.
Why a 12 by 12 Field Tile Works in a Beaumont New Build
Porcelain in the 12 by 12 format is the workhorse of the production new-build segment for good reason. Purpose: it is dense, low-absorption porcelain that holds up to entry-traffic, kitchen spills, and Alberta seasonal humidity swings. Properties: the 12 by 12 module cuts cleanly around standard cabinet kicks and HVAC registers, the straight lay pattern is the fastest install layout (which keeps cost in the homeowner’s favor), and the size is large enough to read modern but small enough to navigate awkward angles in mudrooms and powder rooms. Relationship: repeating the same field tile across multiple rooms ties the house together visually and gives the design a coherent finish from the front door through to the master ensuite.
Setting Material Choices: VersaBond on Floors, ReliaBond on Backsplash
The setting material on a new build matters more than most homeowners realise. We used two different products for two different applications. The floor tile, the fireplace surround, and the bathroom field were all set with VersaBond Thin-Set, a polymer modified, professional grade thin-set engineered for porcelain on cement board and Schluter substrates. The kitchen backsplash was set with ReliaBond Tile Adhesive, a Type 1 mastic that is the correct choice for dry interior vertical surfaces over drywall. Using the right adhesive for each location prevents the failures we see most often on inherited jobs: backsplash tile sliding before cure on a heavy thin-set, or floor tile popping off on a job set with mastic where it has no business being.

Coordinating with Other Trades on a New Build Schedule
The tricky part of a production new build is not the tile, it is the sequence. Cabinets, countertops, plumbing fixtures, electrical trim, and painters all want the same square footage at the same time. On this Beaumont home we worked off the builder’s master schedule: floors first while cabinets were on order, then the kitchen backsplash after counter template, then the showers and bathroom walls after the rough plumbing was framed but before fixtures. Coordinating the windows of access this way means the tile cures correctly and no trade ends up working on top of fresh thin-set. See our floor tile installation page for more on the new-build sequence.
Beaumont Tile Installation: What Homeowners Ask
How much does a full new build tile package cost in Beaumont?
For a single family home in the 1,800 to 2,400 square foot range with main floor field, kitchen backsplash, 2.5 bathrooms, and a fireplace surround, plan on 9,000 to 18,000 dollars in tile labour depending on tile selection and substrate. Mosaic accents and large format upgrades push the number higher.
Can you match what my builder shows in the design centre?
Yes. We work from the builder’s tile schedule and use the exact products specified, or we can suggest comparable alternatives if a product is back ordered. We do not substitute without written approval.
Do you do new builds outside of Beaumont?
We install across Edmonton, Sherwood Park, St Albert, Spruce Grove, Beaumont, Leduc, and Fort Saskatchewan. New builds are a regular part of our weekly schedule.
