Finding The Tile Experts & The Estimating Process

Hello everyone, Oscar Hungsberg with The Tile Experts, and I’m here at Dian’s home where we recently completed a project. Yeah, welcome.

Hi. I’m glad to have you here.

Great. So, we thought that now that we’re finished, we could, you know, have a quick conversation with you about how you found working with The Tile Experts. Okay. Yeah.

Yeah. So let’s start with the top. You know, how did you find out about them, and what was the estimating process like?

Well, I found out about the company in a very unique way. I had a couple friends who had bathrooms finished, and when I asked them who had done it, they said that it was The Tile Experts, Oscar and Ewald. And so I said, “Okay, fine.” And when Oscar came to do the estimate, I realized that I knew him from before, which is a longer story, but anyway, it was nice to have someone that I recognized come and do that process. And I think he was very thorough in going over all of the things that we asked him to do, measured it all very carefully, and then organized us so that we could get started.

Awesome. Yeah. Okay. And so that sounds great.

Now, what about the estimating? So, did you think it was good when all the numbers came in and how it all worked out when we put together the estimate for you?

I think so. I mean, like always, you always wish it would be maybe just a little bit less, right? But then, you know, when you start thinking about all the pieces that are involved, I think overall, when the final cost came, it made sense. We had a sort of idea of what we wanted, and we were willing to pay for that, and I believe we got every bit of it.

Yeah. No, it is a fantastic finish. I really like what you guys went with. Yeah.

Renovation Experience & Final Recommendation

Project Process, Teamwork & Final Thoughts

Once you went ahead to do the project and The Tile Experts came and started the project, how did you find the process of the renovation?

I think it was very relaxing. Sometimes I think when you have strange people in your house all the time, sometimes it’s not the easiest thing to do. But Ewald is such a wonderful person to work with. He’s very calm, makes very good work. He always takes care of every little detail, and no matter what question you asked him, he would always figure out the answer. He would get somebody to come and do something that needed to be done, and that was always done very smoothly. There were no problems. That’s all.

Yeah. Yeah. He’s detail oriented.

He is. He’s very detail oriented. Cares about every single thing.

Yeah. Awesome. Okay. And so, you know, during the process, you did work with different teams of The Tile Experts. Yeah. Was it continuous throughout the whole time, and were we able to deliver as your expectations?

I think the only holdups were if we were waiting for a piece to come or appear, which weren’t very long. But again, Ewald was here every single day when he said he was going to be here. He was never 2 hours behind that or an hour ahead or whatever. He came when he said he would come. And he organized all the contractors that helped him. They came when he said they were going to come, and the follow-up was excellent. I thought he did a great job of that.

Great. Okay. And I think the last thing was, if you were a homeowner here in Edmonton that was looking for a tile contractor to help them do their bathroom renovation, what would you say to them?

If you’re looking for perfection and a really super good job, then I think that Tile Experts is one of your best choices. You would never be sorry because they follow up on everything. They do an excellent job of every little step along the way, and they always check to make sure that it’s done well.
